Achieving Family Wellness

1.

Individual
Psychotherapy

I work with children individually who are struggling from various type of problematic behaviors that may have developed as a result of abuse, domestic violence, divorce, separations, bullying, video games, moving, homelessness, blended families, adoptions, and foster care.

Session length depends on severity of issues.

2.

Trauma
Therapy

When children are suffering a great deal from a traumatic event I implement a specialized treatment called Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) which is designed to assist children with processing the trauma they have experienced.

Typical session length: 12-16

3.

Family
Therapy

I work with families to improve communication, resolve conflicts, or helping parents develop skills for managing client moods and behaviors. Family therapy is often a short term treatment which includes all family members or those able or willing to attend sessions.

Session length depends on severity of issues.

Therapy Sessions
My Approach

I became a counselor to help people navigate their complex worlds; providing clients with tools to live a healthier and happier life. I believe in a reductionism approach to health; that human behavior can be explained by breaking it down into smaller components.

About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience working in the medical and mental health field, specifically mental health counseling for the past five years. I have a Master of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Idaho # LCSW-37239.

Getting Help

Therapy can be an effective treatment for mental and emotional problems. But in order to reap its benefits, it’s important to choose the right therapist—someone you trust who makes you feel cared for and has the experience to help you make changes for the better in your life. A good therapist helps you to become stronger and more self-aware. But your therapist cannot do the work for you. In order to make the most of your sessions, you must be an active participant.
