About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience working in the medical and mental health field, specifically mental health counseling for the past five years. I have a Master of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Idaho # LCSW-37239.

I am trained and experienced in providing counseling one-on-one to adults, adolescents and children with specialized education and training in mental health counseling and children’s trauma with additional experience in mood disorders, developmental behaviors, and family systems. I work a great deal with children and families who have experienced trauma; helping children and families heal and return to a normal level of functioning.

My experience ranges from treating children, adolescents, and teens suffering from PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, depression, autism, abuse (physical, emotional, sexual), behavior issues, separation, and family relational problems.

I work with families (parents and children) who are seeking to strengthen parenting skills, reduce distress and conflict by improving the systems of interactions between family members.

My primary methods of treatment include CBT, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and solution focused interventions and techniques which are used based on the needs of the client. Though I am not certified I do use elements of art and play therapy strategies to assist children with processing thoughts and feelings.

I have been extensively trained in Trauma Focused CBT which is a therapy intervention designed to help children who are victims of abuse develop strategies for coping with emotions, thoughts, and behaviors related to the abuse.
